Handling and storing, in short

Colloidal silver needs little looking after. Apply it to clean skin, keep the bottle’s opening uncontaminated, replace the lid after use, and store it cool, dark and sealed in its dark glass. No fridge needed, and never freeze it. For external use only.

This guide covers handling and storing colloidal silver: applying it cleanly, keeping the bottle uncontaminated, travelling with it, and storage.

Colloidal silver needs very little looking after, but a few small habits keep every bottle in good order.

Here is how to handle it day to day. For the full storage detail, see how to store colloidal silver.

How should I handle colloidal silver day to day?

Handling is simple, and it is all about keeping things clean.

  • Apply to clean skin — use it on clean, dry skin.
  • Use the applicator — the dropper for precise placement, the spray for wider coverage.
  • Don’t touch the opening — keep the dropper tip or spray nozzle off your skin and surfaces.

How do I keep the bottle uncontaminated?

A clean bottle stays good for longer.

Replace the lid straight after use, and don’t decant the silver into another container — especially not metal, which can react with it. Keeping it in its original dark glass is always best.

UK-made colloidal silver, from £16.95

Most colloidal silver uses water purified once, if at all. We use two stages — reverse osmosis, then distillation — then bottle in dark glass. 10, 100 and 200 ppm, in dropper, spray or 500ml refill.

Can I travel with colloidal silver?

Yes — the 100ml dropper and spray are an easy size to take with you.

The dark glass protects the contents in a bag just as it does in a cupboard, so you can keep one to hand at home and another for travel.

How should I store colloidal silver?

Keep it somewhere cool and dark, out of direct sunlight, with the lid closed.

No fridge, and never freeze it — freezing breaks the suspension. The full detail is in how to store colloidal silver.

How do I know if colloidal silver has gone off?

Stored and handled well, it keeps for a long time.

If the liquid changes noticeably in colour, or you see silver settling at the bottom, it is past its best — though kept cool, dark and sealed you are unlikely to see either soon.

It is, as always, sold for external use only. You can see the full range in the shop.
