Is glass better than plastic for bottles?
For storing a product, glass has the edge: it is inert, doesn’t leach, and doesn’t hold onto smells or flavours.
Plastic is lighter and cheaper, which is why it is everywhere. But for keeping a product in good condition, glass is the more stable choice.
Does plastic leach chemicals into what it holds?
It can. Plastics may release small amounts of their own ingredients into the contents, especially with heat or sunlight.
Glass doesn’t do this — it is inert, so what you put in is what you pour out. That is a big part of why we avoid plastic.
Why is amber or dark glass used instead of clear?
Dark glass blocks far more light than clear glass, which protects light-sensitive contents.
Clear glass looks lovely, but it lets light straight through. Amber and other dark glass act like sunglasses for whatever is inside.
Why do we bottle our colloidal silver in dark glass?
Because colloidal silver is sensitive to light, and we want it to stay in good condition on your shelf.
