How it is made

Colloidal silver is made by suspending tiny particles of pure silver in purified water, usually with a gentle electric current. The purity of the water matters a great deal, which is why we purify ours twice before any silver goes in. Sold for external use only.

How is colloidal silver made?

By suspending tiny particles of pure silver in purified water, usually using a gentle electric current.

  • Reverse osmosis — forces the water through an ultra-fine membrane to strain out dissolved minerals and impurities.
  • Distillation — boils what is left to vapour and re-condenses it, so only the cleanest water carries through.
  • Suspend the silver — real silver is then dispersed through that double-purified water.
  • Dark glass — we bottle in dark glass, never plastic, to keep light off the contents.

Why does the water purity matter so much?

Because the purity of the water is one of the things that affects the silver particles.

The cleaner the starting water, the better the foundation. That is exactly why we purify ours twice — most makers use one step, if any.

What’s the difference between colloidal and ionic silver?

In a colloid, the silver is present as tiny suspended particles. In an ionic solution, the silver is dissolved as ions.

The two terms are often muddled on labels, but they describe genuinely different forms. A true colloid holds particles in suspension rather than dissolving them.

Can I make colloidal silver at home?

Home generators exist, but getting the water purity and particle size right is genuinely difficult.

We don’t provide home-making instructions. It is fiddly to get right, which is rather the point of a product that is made carefully and consistently.

Why is colloidal silver bottled in dark glass?

Because it is sensitive to light, and dark glass keeps the light off.

It helps keep the contents stable on the shelf, and we never use plastic. Whichever you choose is sold for external use only.
